The mall is being built in the Cambodian capital and is expected to be 150,000 square meters over five floors. There will be car parking space for 2,000 cars and 500 motorbikes.  Chip Mong Retail’s Acting President Stephane Pierron said the project is costing $130 million in construction on land worth $30 million. It was initially reported that the mall would have 160,000 sqm of floor space and was expected to open in mid-2021. The mall is located within the Chip Mong Land development area of Landmark 271. This week an MoU for the mechanical, electrical, and fire system (MEF) between contractor DBD Engineering, and Chip Mong 271 Mega Mall was signed, while Comin Khmere would look after the safety of the Chip Mong Tower reports the Khmer Times.

Shopping malls in Phnom Penh

There are a number of shopping malls in Phnom Penh with several confusingly named "Megamalls" under construction. The formerly named Parkson Mall, now called the Phnom Penh Megamall, is being developed by Hassan (Cambodia) Development Co Ltd and managed by CBRE. It is located on Russian Boulevard in central Phnom Penh district, has a total floor area of 47,000 sqm and will be used as a mixed-commercial centre. It is due in late 2020. Chip Mong Group is also developing its Chip Mong Sen Sok Mall while the Yuetai International Group's YT Mall, is developing a shopping and entertainment centre. AEON 3 is also getting underway and is planned to be a five-story shopping centre over 170,000 square meters, the largest of the three AEON Malls in Cambodia. In recent years more than a dozen malls have opened in Phnom Penh, including Aeon Mall 2, The Park, Chip Mong Noro Mall, Prince Plaza Mall, Eden Garden, and Olympia Plaza Mall.
